FAQs

-
Where do lessons take place?Lessons are offered in-person at our studio at 4556 E Towne Ln, Gilbert, AZ, 85234. We also offer online lessons.
-
What lessons do you offer? We offer private lessons in voice, piano, and ukulele. Lessons are crafted to support each individual student's goals. Lesson topics can be broad or focused on more niche areas like song writing, music theory, audition prep, etc. depending on their goals.

What should I expect at my first lesson? We will spend some time getting to know each other and discussing your musical interests and goals so that we can formulate a personalized training plan and develop a relationship! It's important that you find an instructor that you trust and connect with, so we'll make sure we're a good match. We will also start digging into exercises, musical concepts, and repertoire based on the experience level you are starting at. If you're taking a voice lesson, I'd recommend making a short list of songs you feel comfortable singing to show off what your voice can do and where you may need some support. If you are taking a piano or ukulele lesson and you know any skills or songs already, I'll have you show me what you know. If you don't have any experience - don't worry! I'll help you with the basics in the first lesson.

How much do lessons cost?Pricing can be found here.

What if I have to miss a lesson?Students are permitted one (1) free lesson cancellation per semester (January-June & July-December). To use their free cancellation credit, the instructor must be notified via call, text, or email at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance or beyond the one (1) free cancellation per semester are paid cancellations; they cannot be rescheduled or refunded. Students pay to reserve their time on the calendar. Therefore, the student is charged for lessons as long as their name is on the schedule, whether or not they are present for their lesson time. No makeup lessons are given. All policies can be viewed in the document below.

What if I don't have a piano at my house? For voice students, no worries! I travel with a portable keyboard, so no piano necessary. For piano students, I recommend acquiring a keyboard or piano after the first month of lessons. This gives students enough time to decide if they want to commit to learning the instrument before making an investment. Piano students will need an instrument to practice on between lessons. I can provide a list of recommendations.

Can anyone really learn to sing or play an instrument?Yes! We firmly believe that when students receive quality instruction and support, they can learn any skill at any age and any experience level. Similar to athletics, growth takes time, practice, and dedication! We've seen success in students from the ages of 4 to 84. Really!
